Passionate about advancing healthcare, I seek to unite the precision of medical technology with the elegance of industrial design. Though my background lies in design rather than medicine, this aspiration drives me to create meaningful, human-centred medical products.

LUMA
LUMA is a neonatal pneumonia monitoring system designed for infants, particularly premature babies who are highly vulnerable due to incomplete lung development. The device addresses the challenge of detecting pneumonia symptoms early, as they are often subtle and easily confused with common colds. Delayed recognition can lead to severe complications, including respiratory distress, prolonged hospitalisation, and increased mortality. Infants under two years old are especially at risk, and inexperienced parents may overlook warning signs, making reliable early detection crucial.
The system consists of three components: a wearable chest strap that collects respiratory and temperature data, an AI-based analytics module that assesses risk and provides tiered alerts, and a parent application that provides real-time feedback, growth tracking, and remote medical support. By combining wearable sensing, intelligent analytics, and user-friendly interaction, LUMA enables early screening, reduces parental anxiety, and improves infant safety and well-being.

The LUMA product is composed of four main parts: a soft silicone strap for comfort and wearability, a core module for respiratory monitoring, a temperature sensor for accurate body measurement, and a charging dock to ensure convenient recharging.

This is an internal structure diagram, illustrating the key components and how they are assembled within the product.
