UI/UX designer with a product design background. I am good at research and ideation, and I focus on improving user experiences in different situations while encouraging communication and connection between people. I aim to design solutions that truly support users.
Background
While exercising alone can bring physical and mental benefits, challenges such as lack of clear guidance, frequent corrections from workout partners, and fear of judgment often reduce motivation. Negative or excessive instructions from buddies may lead to giving up, making it clear that autonomy and emotional safety are key needs in the fitness journey.
User Research
To gain deeper insights into users’ authentic experiences and challenges during fitness routines, this study employed semi-structured in-depth interviews with four target users and one gym instructor. Through direct dialogue with target users, we collected their genuine feelings about interacting with workout partners, encompassing both positive experiences and moments of discomfort. The interviews focused on users’ needs and pain.

UX Vision Statement
There is an opportunity to create a service for women aged 18–30 who feel anxious about going to the gym and often experience emotional discomfort due to overbearing guidance from workout buddies. They want to maintain their autonomy and improve communication with their buddies, but struggle to express their boundaries and negetive emotion to their buddies in a clear and right way.
Ideation
Final Concept
This is a gym buddy app designed for women who want to create and maintain an emotionally supportive gym relationship. The app focuses on smart buddy matching, gentle communication and shared gym journey experience, all without interfering with the workout process.
